A WARDROBE STAPLE #2.

Monday, 27 April 2015

Cigarette pants have been on my 'To Buy' list for a while so finally I caved and purchased them! Like always I bought them in black as they look timeless and go with pretty much everything. The tailoring looks SO classy, with the pleats around the front and the rolled up ankles to frame the legs. They hang perfectly around the waist and whether you wear them with boots, heels or even trainers, they'd be a sophisticated replacement for your standard pair of jeans.
My preferred way to wear them is with a tight top as it contrasts with the relaxed fit of the trousers. As for outfits combinations black and white is a classic one but with Spring rearing it's fine head I think it's time that I find some colourful options to pair with these beautiful trousers. I can definitely see myself getting maximum use out of these, from Spring through to Winter combined all sorts of colours and textures. I'm excited to style and experiment with them in the future.

FINDING INSPIRATION: FASHION.

Monday, 13 April 2015

Anyone who knows me knows that I want a career in the fashion industry and getting ahead of the game (whilst enjoying it) this early on in my life can only be a good thing, right???
There is so much inspiration in regards to fashion; from seeing someone stroll down the street in an outfit you have to recreate to reading a magazine article about upcoming trends.
A recent source of inspiration that I'm loving is the Paris Street Style book. It's filled with amazing style advice and interviews from incredible, successful people. It's a great book to dip in and out of whenever you fancy which makes it more fun to read.

Very recently my lovely Gran bought me two very beautiful fashion related books. I'm yet to begin reading them but they have already started to inspire me with the classy covers and little snippets that I've had a glance at. I will get great pleasure from reading these books and I know they will be very useful for my future.

Some little extras that I picked up whilst on holiday are these Vogue postcards that I found at a random vintage shop - they were 50p each and I'm totally in love with them! At the moment they're sat on my desk but soon enough they will be up on my wall somewhere...
(The purple quote postcard was from a separate shop.)

Fashion is the industry that I know I want to be in so I love having little elements of inspiration everywhere.

Whatever you are inspired by it's motivating to have little aspects of it all around you and it will probably help you in achieving what you want.

What are you inspired by?
