OCCASION WEAR ON A BUDGET.

Monday, 21 September 2015

At the weekend I attended a charity ball organised by one of my amazing friends and I loved every second of it - I want to do it all over again! It was filled with laughs, dancing and taking advantage of wearing beautiful dresses by taking an excessive amount of photos. It was a night shared with my best friends and a night I'll never forget.

When I was searching for a dress I just knew that I'd find something on ASOS. I didn't want anything too pricey as I don't think I'll be wearing this dress too regularly. With that thought in mind I plumped for this black number coming in at £32! I know, amazing right?!

This dress fits like a dream and the features which make the dress different from the usual black maxi are the slit, the mesh panel and the cross front halter neck. I wanted my outfit to look minimal so to continue this theme I wore black strappy heels and an envelope clutch.  To complete the minimalist look, all of the jewellery that I wore was silver.

Have you got any special occasions coming up? A birthday, a wedding, a celebratory meal? If so, what are you going to wear?

Love, Mais.

MINIMAL JEWELLERY.

Sunday, 13 September 2015

Minimal jewellery is something I always wear and kind of feel lost without. I like to keep it simply so then it can be worn daily or for special events. I've found that I prefer silver jewellery over gold and this way it looks a bit more understated. Over the last few years I've accumulated some key pieces which I wear together, separately or mix and match.
Miscellaneous Rings (top left and right) - These rings were given to me by family members when I was younger and I rediscovered them a few years after so unfortunately I don't know where they're from, sorry!

Forever 21 Ring (bottom) - similar here. This came in a set of 3 from forever 21 but I couldn't find the exact set so I linked a gorgeous alternative! I normally wear this ring as an extra when I feel like going all out and wearing all my rings together.
Pandora Ring - here. After receiving this ring nearly 2 years ago, it rarely leaves my finger. The thing that attracted me to it was that it's two tonal and very different from anything I've seen before. Besides my watch, this is the piece of jewellery that I wear most often.

Casio Watch - here. After seeing various Casio watches on Instagram, I asked for one for Christmas and I genuinely don't think there's been a day since where I haven't worn it - I just love how retro it looks! Before I put it on, I find myself looking at my wrist for the time and I actually don't feel right without it...
Pandora Necklace and Charms (top)  - Necklace: here. Charms: here and here. This necklace and the charms only get worn occasionally but when they do I really love the way it looks - especially with v-neck tops. The charms mean something special to me as does my beautiful Auntie who bought me them.

Tiffany's Necklace (bottom) - here. When I received this beauty as a gift for an achievement, I couldn't quite believe it was mine. I've kept all the packaging and every time I wear it I wrap it back up again! It's so sparkly, elegant and classic and I will wear it forever and ever!

Simply, understated, silver jewellery is my favourite kind, what's yours?

AN A/W FASHION PICK.

Sunday, 6 September 2015

The wide leg jumpsuit has been seen everywhere since the A/W collections have started rolling in...and since I have a special event coming up in November I thought I'd grab myself a slice of this trend.
This Topshop piece is so timeless and classic. The cut of the jumpsuit is very flattering and definitely makes my legs appear longer which I'm all for, especially since I'm barely 5'3" and the smallest of all my friends!
As well as the event in November I can also see it getting pulled out for some use over the Christmas/New Year period and perhaps a future wedding...

URBAN OUTFITTERS HOME WISH LIST.

Tuesday, 1 September 2015

After popping into Urban Outfitters the other week, I discovered a few home bits that I fell head over heels for! When I came home after a day of shopping I got straight on their website and found some more amazing things... At the moment I'm feeling extra inspired after seeing a few beautiful interior blog posts so it was perfect timing to properly discover Urban Outfitters Home section. With the combination of seeing them instore, online and on blog posts, these are the 5 things that I've compiled into a little wish list:

  1. Pyramid Glass Box
  2. Scratch Map (originally seen on www.andieology.co.uk
  3. Tapestry Throw
  4. Pineapple Lamp (originally seen on www.pagesbymegan.com)
  5. Tassel Pillow Set
A short but sweet blog post, but after discovering these gems I couldn't help but share them.

Love Mais.
