MY CHRISTMAS DAY OUTFIT.

Monday, 28 December 2015

Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day!

A Christmas Day outfit isn't always a necessity I tend to have but after seeing this stunner of a dress in Topshop I couldn't think of a better occasion to wear it. The thing that caught my eye about this dress is that it sports 70's trends whilst being wearable for everyday. The style (the fitted body and A-line skirt) and red corduroy material is what make it super 70's but as it's still a mini dress it can be styled differently and therefore can be worn often. For a more evening appropriate look the dress alone and a pair of heels would be ideal but for a Winters day layering works wonders - this black funnel neck has been a solid staple in my wardrobe ever since I purchased it and is perfect paired with this dress.

The other feature that drew me to this dress is that it can also be worn as a sleeveless jacket as the zip at the front unfastens all the way down and the belt can be tied to give a more relaxed look. Since Christmas Day I've worn the dress as a sleeveless jacket with a pair of grey jeans and a roll neck and loved the outcome equally. Being a lover of silver hardware opposed to gold, I'm so glad this dress has my preferred choice as I find it makes it appear more minimal and classic.

So it's fair to say I've found a winner with this dress.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THE CLOTHES SHOW LIVE.

Monday, 21 December 2015

The Clothes Show Live is something I've loved for three years. If you have any interest in fashion or beauty then it's a day out that I can guarantee you'll want to experience! This year the Clothes Show 2015 took place from the 4th-8th of December and I was lucky enough to attend on the 5th.

The event itself takes place at the NEC in Birmingham and from corner to corner the whole room is flooded with all things fashion and beauty. This year the brands that stood out to me were NYX Cosmetics, Nanshy, David & Goliath, ASOS Marketplace, Lee Stafford and Rimmel however there were hundreds of other well known and less well known brands scattered around the NEC. I picked up a few bits from NYX and Nanshy and whilst doing so got little bit over excited!

During the day I heard a talk by the fabulous Louisa AKA Sprinkle of Glitter which was full of laughs! As well as this, many other famous faces were there throughout the five days that the event took place. Last year when I attended the Clothes Show I met JIM CHAPMAN and was featured in his Vlogmas with my group of friends - I still don't know how we managed it and I'm yet to get over it!

My favourite event of the entire Clothes Show is most definitely the Fashion Theatre which is basically a runway show featuring several fashion trends! Excitingly, it gives me an insight into what I could be a part of in the future (as I want to work in the fashion industry). It features models, dancers and this year Ella Eyre sang as part of the show! The atmosphere in the arena is insane and by far the highlight of the day!

I'd recommend the Clothes Show to anyone who is interested in fashion and/or beauty or to anyone who has found what I've described in this blog post interesting. From what I am aware the tickets for the 2016 dates come out in the middle of next year and the event always takes place at the beginning of December.

Will you be attending the Clothes Show Live next year?
