NEW IN: PERFUMES.

Wednesday, 25 January 2017

Over the past year or so I've very much become a perfect girl. I used to be of the opinion that perfume was simply not an essential, but I was SO wrong. Since my last perfume post I've added a few lovely smells to my collection which I wanted to share and recommend to you.

Since receiving this as a birthday present in September from my lovely sister it's fair to say I've become slightly obsessed. It's my evening scent and my go-to for a night out. I'd say it's a sweet scent that isn't overpowering in the slightest. It's classy but still has an element of excitement about it. Also the packaging is out of this world.

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey
This is my second Jo Malone scent and I love it. Again, this is a sweet but mature scent with what I'd describe as quite a lot of depth. I'd say it could be worn as an day or evening scent but personally I'd wear it most during the day.

Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower
Before getting this scent for Christmas I didn't even know that it existed - but I'm very happy that it does. It's defiantly a day scent as it's a very light, floral and fruity fragrance. It seems to last all day and the bottle stands out on my perfume shelf.

I can't wait to discover some new scents in the future but for now I'm more than happy with my little collection. Do any of these tempt you?

ASOS WISH LIST #2.

Monday, 16 January 2017

Although I'm meant to be saving this doesn't stop me from regularly browsing my favourite online spot which, like many people, is of course ASOS. So instead of purchasing them for myself I thought I'd share a few bits that are very much tempting me.
  1. I've always fancied a shirt dress, but one that is still flattering and doesn't to overwhelm my figure. This Missguided piece seems to be just that.
  2. The next few pieces are branded tees - they seem to be doing the rounds at the moment and it's something I will totally be getting on board with. If I do end up purchasing anything from this wish list (which is highly likely) it will most definitely be one of these as they're so practical for everyday and can be worn in various different ways.
  3. To be totally honestly I've never been a huge fan of anything peplum but I think this top is a more flattering and on-trend alternative.
  4. As well as branded tees, band tees are also one of this seasons trends. I've already got my hands on one and I find that it looks effortless and chic but gives off that 'I don't care' vibe.
  5. Although this next piece is nearly sold out, I had to mention it. Embroidered garments have been on the highstreet for a while but it's rare that I find a piece that I absolutely love as the tailoring seems to be unflattering. However, this piece is my idea of perfection!

2017: UPDATE.

Saturday, 7 January 2017

2017 is the year I get my head down, not necessarily in the sense of work, as to be honest I've always been pretty dedicated to that, but in the sense of doing more of what I love. In a nut shell I'm going to save my money (which is one of my major weaknesses) for my for important things, such as experiences, and enjoy life.

Devastatingly my Grandad is extremely unwell and it's got my family and me really thinking that life is just too short and we should take advantage of it whilst we can. Something that really stuck with me is when my Mum was explaining how my Grandma was talking to a patient and his wife in a bed opposite my Grandad in the hospice. They were telling her how they have so much regret as they planned to experience life properly together in their retirement but due to the husbands terminal illness they can't. To me this just shows how we should live life for the now - cringey but very true. With that in mind my family have booked a very exciting trip away in a few months which will most definitely be the source of several blog posts!

This year I also want to do more for charity. With my Grandad being ill I've seen the amazing work that hospices do (particularly volunteers) and this has inspired me majorly. My Grandad himself is an extremely charitable person so it's got me thinking that I want to do more. As of yet I don't know what form this will take as I don't want to simply give donate money.

On a lighter note I've had a sudden urge to create lots of blog content. The thing that I struggle with is finding the time in and amongst the chaos that is life. However, I'm determined to find a way. I've got plenty of blogpost ideas that I'm eager to share with y'all.

A few days ago I got my nose pierced! I've wanted it done for a while and the other day after college I went and took the plunge. At the moment I've got a stud in but eventually I want to change it to a hoop as just love the way that looks and when I see it on other girls I always envy them! Considering I've only had it for 2 days I'm really liking it but the stud has already come out once and I freaked out. However, after a quick visit to the piercing place all was fine.

So there you have it, a random mixture of what's going on in my life. I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas break and are so far enjoying what the new year has to offer. I hope to be back very soon with a more fashion-based blogpost.
