THAT JACKET.

I'd had my eye on this aviator jacket since September when I saw it on the Zara website but finally, a few months later, I decided it was something I needed in my life so it took pride of place on my Christmas list. Lucky for me Santa came through and I was very happy indeed.

The colour was what initially drew me to this piece. This aviator style has been very popular recently which meant that I was hesitant to jump on the bandwagon and go for the standard black option, so when I saw this colour it caught my eye. With something as trend-led as this I prefer to go for the option that is slightly off the cuff and this deep red shade is exactly that!

The details of the jacket are what makes it. The length allows the jacket to be cosy and practical whilst also achieving that higher end feel. Rather than the faux fur being simply for aesthetic purposes, it serves up practicality as the whole of the jacket is lined which is something that I've valued recently on those oh so regular, freezing cold days. It's this kind of detail that pieces from the high street are sometimes lacking and it's made the jacket all the more wearable. The oversized feel is probably my favourite characteristic, giving off that 'effortlessly put-together' vibe. This is something I usually always aim to achieve with my style so having a staple piece such as a jacket to help me with this is ideal. The hardware is silver and the belt is held in place by a clever fixture which is a clever little touch. All of these details make this coat an absolute pleasure to wear and there's been very few days where I haven't worn this since I opened it on Christmas Day.

I've found styling it an easy and enjoyable experience - it's fitted into my wardrobe seamlessly and I feel like it looks best teamed with my ASOS farleigh jeans as pictured above, but like any great staple piece it looks great styled many different ways.

Sadly, I think this colour has sold out, but I've linked the black version here, along with a similar berry coloured jacket from Warehouse here! And if they aren't up your street take a look on ASOS for all the different colour-ways that are on offer at the moment. Happy browsing!
